Subject: Design of a test bed to be used in the Ministry of Defense R&D program for National Security named CNS2000 "Cornice Nazionale di Sicurezza". The aim of the program was to define a new security architecture to be adopted in the communication and information systems to assure the protection of classified and sensitive information guaranteeing the interoperability with other national and NATO organizations. The design involves all the aspects: the civil works, the auxiliary systems, the COMSEC protections and the WAN/LAN implementation. From the security architecture point of view, the design defines the characteristics of the security devices and encryption algorithms to be employed to assure the requirement.
